Areas of Focus
Many folks have been looking for a therapist that can relate to their experiences in life. As a systemic trauma therapist, I look at the way the world can wound those who don’t fit in. I use therapeutic modalities and social deconstruction theories to explore where suffering exists in spaces that are not your fault. This might look like how sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, sizeism and related experiences show up in the world.
I also use this approach through a biopsychology perspective. I help explore what may be happening in your experiences by examining the neuroscience of adversities. This can help you understand the anatomy of suffering by understanding the way your brain and body are communicating.
These approaches can help those living in the margins feel more comfortable with themselves and find empowerment to take the place of shame. I have over 7 years of experience working with people who have intersecting identities. I got my start working as a therapist at Seattle Counseling Services; one of the oldest queer mental health centers in the U.S.
I also have experience working with couples and/or polycules navigating polyamourus relationships.
I’m a trained Existential therapist that looks at therapy from a social justice and decolonial perspective. I believe in the liberation of all people from bias and harm and that no one is free until all of us are free.
